This Captain America is from Mattel’s Secret Wars series that came out in 1984. It is one of the classic Captain America action figures and was part of series one which had 8 figures. It is a 5 inch figure with minimal articulation and a shield that not similar to Captain America’s actual shield. In fact, it has a lenticular, or 3D, image which changes the image when tilted in different directions. Most collectors aren’t too fond of the shield and would have preferred an historically correct shield. While his shield isn’t too good his costume is excellent and matches his original costume very closely.
The Secret Wars Captain America is also known for its lack of paint durability and many times has rubbing of the stripes and star so it is hard to find in mint or near mint condition.
